What is professional coaching?
Professional coaching is a thought-provoking and creative partnership that supports clients in clarifying goals, deepening self-awareness, and taking intentional action.
Coaching focuses on the present and future and supports learning and growth through reflection, inquiry, and accountability.
How is coaching different from therapy, mentoring or consulting?
Coaching is not therapy, counselling, mentoring, or consulting.
-
Coaching supports awareness, choice, and self-directed action
-
Therapy or counselling focuses on healing and mental health
-
Mentoring or consulting involves guidance, advice, or expertise
In coaching, the client remains fully responsible for their decisions, actions, and outcomes.
Who is coaching suitable for?
Coaching is suitable for individuals, leaders, and teams who are open to reflection, learning, and change.
Clients often engage coaching during periods of transition, increased responsibility, uncertainty, or when seeking greater clarity, confidence, or effectiveness.

How does a coaching engagement work?
A coaching engagement begins with an initial conversation to explore goals, expectations, and fit. If we proceed, the focus, session structure, and engagement duration are agreed upfront.
Coaching sessions provide a confidential space for reflection, exploration, and action planning, with progress reviewed periodically to ensure relevance and impact.
How long is a coaching session?
Coaching sessions typically last 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the engagement. Session length and frequency are agreed in advance
How many sessions are there?
Coaching engagements are flexible and tailored to individual needs. While some clients benefit from a short-term coaching focus, others prefer a longer-term partnership to support ongoing growth. The number of sessions is agreed together. As a guide, short-term engagements typically involve around six sessions.
Is coaching confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a foundational principle of professional coaching.
For organisational or employer-sponsored coaching:
-
Coaching conversations remain confidential between the coach and coachee
-
Organisations may receive high-level updates (e.g. attendance or general themes), but not detailed session content unless explicitly agreed in writing
These boundaries are clearly outlined in the Coaching Agreement.
What is expected of me as a client?
Clients are expected to engage honestly and openly in the coaching process, reflect between sessions, and take responsibility for their decisions and actions.
Coaching outcomes depend on the client’s commitment and circumstances.
What outcomes can I expect from coaching?
Coaching supports increased self-awareness, clarity, confidence, and intentional action.
Outcomes are subjective and vary from client to client. As outlined in the Coaching Agreement, no specific outcomes or results are guaranteed.
How are coaching sessions conducted?
Sessions may be conducted virtually or in person, depending on location and mutual agreement. Virtual coaching allows flexibility across regions and time zones while maintaining depth and effectiveness.
What languages are coaching sessions conducted in?
Coaching is primarily conducted in English.
How do you work with organisations?
For organisational engagements, coaching is designed to align business objectives with individual development, while maintaining ethical standards, confidentiality, and psychological safety.
Specific arrangements are documented in the Coaching Agreement or engagement schedule.
What about rescheduling or cancellations?
A clear scheduling, cancellation, and rescheduling policy applies and is outlined in the Coaching Agreement provided prior to commencement of engagement.
Is payment collected through the website?
No. Payments are not collected through the website. Fees and payment arrangements are agreed separately and invoiced in accordance with the Coaching Agreement.
For individuals, typically it can be made via PayNow or bank transfers.
